FISA abuse report shown to members of the lower chamber

A report that is said to “shock the conscience of a nation” outlining Obama’s DOJ and FBI abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) has been shown to members of the lower chamber by House Intelligence Committee Republicans. The highly classified report details allegedly how FISA was inappropriately used to spy on a foreign policy aide to Donald Trump. There has been some claims that the details in this classified report are so shocking that it will lead to high profile members of the FBI losing their jobs and could even spell an end to Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel probe.

There has been increasing calls for the report to be made public by House Republicans. Rep. Matt Gaetz said that the report should be made public in order to “preserve our democracy” according to Politico. It is believed that the report states that the salacious and unproven Fusion GPS dossier was used as evidence to obtain FISA warrants to spy on members of the Trump campaign. The report which was compiled by British intelligence agent Christopher Steele on behalf of Fusion GPS was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign through DNC and Clinton campaign lawyer Marc E Elias.

The Democrats have unsurprisingly been keen to block the release of this report. The top Democrat on the Intel committee Rep Adam Schiff has said he is against the release of the document saying it is “rife with inaccuracies” and “referencing highly classified materials.” It is being suggested by some that the release of this report would be catastrophic for the Dems and that it will expose the corrupt and frankly criminal actions of the Obama DOJ and in the higher echelons of the FBI.

In the last few hours the hashtag #FISAGATE has been doing the rounds on social media. It has been said that this report could potentially be released by the end of the month. Lets hope that is the truth, because if this report contains the material many are speculating, this is a scandal that all Americans have the right to know about.
