Project Veritas exposes Twitter bias against whites, Christians and conservatives
The Project Veritas organization headed by conservative activist James O’ Keefe has exposed massive bias at Twitter towards white conservatives and Christians. In the YouTube video which was released yesterday, several clips in the video showed Twitter employees being filmed undercover speaking about their methods of censoring white Christians and conservatives. Some of the footage also shows Twitter executives using racist language about white people.
One of the people filmed undercover discussing Twitter’s censorship tactics is former software engineer Abhinav Vadrevu. In the conversation which took place at a restaurant, the former software engineer said that the method known as shadow banning, where a person’s is essentially banned from Twitter so nobody can view their content but still active on the site is used to have “ultimate control” over the user.
In other conversations with Twitter employee Steven Pierre, he said that the aim was to have it where “every single conversation is going to be rated by a machine and the machine is going to say whether it is positive or not.” The real bias started to show when an undercover interview was conducted with Twitter policy manager Olinda Hassan, saying that a system was being developed that would be used to get rid of what she described as the “sh*t people,” referring to Trump supporters. One of the most telling conversations was with Twitter Content Review agent Mo Norai. During this discussion, Mo Norai admitted the political bias involved with the content review process, saying that pro-Trump and conservative content was often banned but left-wing material was often allowed to pass through unchecked. In one quote Mr Norai said “Yeah, if they said its pro-Trump I don’t want it because it offends me…and I say I banned the whole thing.”
The most ignorant comments in this whole expose by Project Veritas were made by Pranay Singh. During the conversation which took place in a bar or nightclub, Mr Singh made disparaging comments about Trump supporters, conservatives, Christians and white people. In one of the quotes attributed to him he said “Yeah you look for Trump, or America, and you have like five thousand keywords to describe a redneck. Then you look and parse all the messages, all the pictures, and then you look for stuff that matches that stuff.”
Twitter’s co-founder Jack Dorsey has described the social media site as being “the public square.” This blatant censoring of political viewpoints is in stark contrast to the claims Dorsey has made. In a world where social media sites are increasingly becoming major parts of our lives, the fact that companies such as Twitter can have the power to turn off dissenting voices is extremely troubling. All of us who consider ourselves to be free thinkers should be very grateful to Project Veritas and James O’ Keefe for exposing these shockingly bias practices at Twitter. Maybe now it is out in the open, Jack Dorsey might be forced to take action to make sure the “public square” of Twitter is not just the speakers corner for those with certain left-wing ideologies and beliefs.
